DARWIN'S RADIO
Darwin's Radio are a 4 piece band from the South of England.
Formed when former Grey Lady Down members Mark Westworth and
Sean Spear joined forces with Dec Burke (ex-Spirit of Rush)
completing the line-up is new drummer to the group, Tim
Churchman. Darwin's Radio are something very different, a modern
progressive rock band with great harmonies, strong melodies and
just a touch of jazz. With up tempo, prominent keyboards from
Westworth and a power-house of a rhythm section in Spear &
Churchman. Burke, in particular, is a real find with a jazzy
guitar style, and a splendid, slightly hoarse voice reminiscent
of John Mitchell of Kino. The music is full of dynamics,
wonderful tempo changes and meaningful lyrics. The group are on
tour in the UK in October, sharing the bill with Swedish prog-stars
The Flower Kings at the Summers End Festival. Their debut album
“Eyes of the World” is simply magnificent and will appeal to all
lovers of melodic prog in the American style who don't mind the
guitars turned up a little. The group are presently working on
material for their second album, some of which will be
show-cased at ROSFEST in April ‘07
