Myriad

The definitive lineup of Myriad was completed in 2000, but the band actually dates back to 1995. Originally, the general premise was to create a unit of talented musicians that believed strongly in their music. Their songs would incorporate an array of styles, built mainly around varying time signatures, harmony, counterpoint, etc, while utilizing elements of Jazz, rock, and progressive rhythms, the result is a selection of compositions being played by three individuals heading in the same musical direction.

First, Myriad was started by guitarist/singer named Ed Moehring, he was born and raised in Whitestone, New York. He started playing the guitar at the age of 12. All throughout his school years, he would study with several instructors, both guitar and vocal. While attending Queens College, he would study computer science and music. (Receiving a bachelors degree in the former). His most notable work was with the band Tragic Fantasy.

Second, in response to an ad in a local music paper, came Tom Spagna, a drummer with a serious passion for playing his instrument. Tommy was both born and raised in Bayside, New York. He started playing seriously at the age of 12. Being the son of a veteran drummer and having studied with a seasoned professional for several years, He continued to do so while attending Nassau Community College. His previous work was with a project called Tribal Nation.

Third, by responding to a subsequent ad, came Brian Cohen, a bassist who plays his instrument with great pride. Brian was born in Brooklyn, New York and now resides out in Farmingdale, Long Island. He started playing the guitar at the age of 12, but soon switched over to bass. Being a self-taught player, he has picked up a lot along the way. His most recent experience was with a band called Other Worlds.

Each of the band members takes their music very seriously. They feel that their hard work and their love for the music will endure, considering it is all that they have ever wanted to do.

This is the very reason they have been invited to play at RoSfest.
