Due to Perfect Beings having to withdraw from ROSfest 2016 following the sudden and unfortunate departure of two band members, we are announcing some adjustments to the schedule for ROSfest 2016.

The Fringe will now be the opening band for Sunday morning in the “Church of Prog” slot. They will also have their official CD launch and release party at ROSfest 2016; a major event exclusive to ROSfest!

No More Pain, (originally set to open on Sunday morning), will now be the opening band on Saturday.  Circuline, (originally set to open on Saturday morning), will take the slot originally set for Perfect Beings as the second band out on Saturday.

Obviously, we send our best to the Perfect Beings headquarters and wish them the best of luck in finding new dedicated members.  Hopefully, we will book them for a future ROSfest edition.  We wish to express our gratitude to the bands willing to alter their plans for ROSfest, thus enabling us to provide a good solid festival despite the cancellation.  A special “thanks” goes to The Fringe for giving us a world exclusive event by having their official CD launch and release party at ROSfest 2016.

US trio ZEBRA has been signed as the Sunday night headliner at RoSfest 2016

US trio ZEBRA has been signed as the Sunday night headliner at RoSfest 2016

We’re pleased to announce that veteran US threesome Zebra has been added to the bill of RoSfest 2016 as the Sunday night headliner.

Despite a history going back to the golden decade of the 1970’s, Zebra isn’t the most high profile name in the music business. Randy Jackson (vocals, guitars), Felix Hanemann (bass, keyboards, vocals) and Guy Gelso (drums, vocals) formed the band in 1975 and the very same musicians are in place some 40 years later, making them one of few bands that have such a long history without line-up alterations. They started out by playing cover songs by bands such as Led Zeppelin, Rush, and The Moody Blues. Although when they released their debut album in 1983 they were indeed often compared to Led Zeppelin, they developed their own trademark, harder edged sound. They continued making music in this vein on three more studio albums, the most recent of these being “IV” from 2003.

We’re excited to announce that US trio THE FRINGE has been signed for RoSfest 2016

We’re excited to announce that US trio THE FRINGE has been signed for RoSfest 2016

We’re excited to announce that up-and-coming US threesome The Fringe has been added to the bill of RoSfest 2016.

The Fringe may be something of an unknown quantity for most, especially given they haven’t released an album as of yet. However, a band that combines the talents of drummer Nick D’Virgilio, bassist Jonas Reingold and guitarist Randy McStine should be alluring to any who have their pulse on what’s happening in modern progressive rock. McStine has performed at RoSfest with his band Lo-Fi Resistance, and Reingold has been a member of a number of high profile bands such as The Flower Kings and Kaipa and Karmakanic. While D’Virgilio’s CV in progressive rock is perhaps even more impressive, he is best known by most for his tenures in Spock’s Beard and Big Big Train.
